Production area: Contrada Piano Daini, Solicchiata, Castiglione di Sicilia (CT) – Italy

Grapes: Nerello Mascalese 90%, Nerello Cappuccio 10%

Meters u.s.l.: 670 meters upon the sea level

Ground: Volcanic sands.

Cultivation system: Sapling supported by chestnut poles.

Vine stock/ hectare: about 7000 plants/hectare

 Average production per plant: 0,5 kg/plant

 Harvest: Manual, second decade of October.

Vinification: Fermentation at controlled temperature in steel tanks. Up to 24 days of maceration on the grapes skins. Malolactic fermentation.

Aging: French oak barrel tonneau (4500/5000 liters) for a period of 31 months and then 8 months in bottle.

Alcoholic strength: 13% vol.

Tasting: fruity and spicy hints, fresh on the palate (and) with elegant tannins.

Serving temperature: 16-18° C.
